Translation

Open the door and let me serve you, O Hari!
Can’t you hear me although I am shouting?

O Narahari! In Vaikuntha in the ocean of milk, while you were relaxing with Lakshmi on the serpent bed
And the king of elephants called out ‘aadi moola!’ in distress, you came at once to his aid.

O Narahari! When the villain (Hiranyakashipu) with sword in his hand and in great anger roared ‘Where is your Lord?’
And the boy (Prahlaada) prayed for you in sincere devotion, you immediately appeared breaking down the pillar.

You gave a never ending garment to the queen (Draupadi) of Yama’s son
You saved Ajamila at the right moment
O Redeemer of Devotees! No time is inconvenient to You
Lotus-eyed Adikeshava of Kaaginele.

  1. I saw this in Bhaktha Kanakadasa. I'm in my early 20's, but I have loved this song since I was a little kid when my grandma used to sing all kinds of Carnatic songs. I've seen many great movies (non-blockbusters) from all over the world and in my humble opinion old Kannada movies are the best.
