Nookalu  gathigani, Oh Manasa

Oh mind , even if you have ten thousand rupees,

All that you  need is a coconut shell full of rice.

Kokalu veyyunna  , kattu,

Konuda kokati kani, Oh Manasa

Oh mind, Even though you have one thousand Saris,

What you need for dressing  is just one.

OOrelina   thaa panduta moodu moora  thavu  kani,

Nooru bhakshanamu   labbina . yentho nodika andhakani  ,

Yeru  ninduka   parina pathraku   thagu neeru  vachughani,

SAraa tharuni  , Harini  , THyagaraja sannudhini maravake  manasaa.
